Black Music City awards annual grants designed to encourage artistic expression and heighten recognition for new artistic works by Philadelphia-area Black creatives that honor Philadelphia’s rich Black music heritage.
In 2023, Black Music City awarded $125,000 in grants of between $2,000 and $5,000 each to 30 local Black creatives, and was honored by the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Philadelphia 2023 Arts + Business Council for demonstrating an impactful collaboration between the local arts and business sectors.
